To Our Families at Saint Justin the Martyr Parish,

As mentioned on our website, we hope this note finds all our parish family members in good health and in good spirit. Covid-19 came upon us rather quickly and brought to a pause our weekly sessions, our Lenten, Easter communal celebrations and the celebration of our sacred sacraments.  As we now move forward with reopening our office, we are following the directives of our Bishop and state government to be in full compliance.

As per Father Mark’s letter a few months back, all families were encouraged to continue with a chapter a week in the student textbook and we hope those efforts enriched and continued a shared faith experience.  We have missed so much during these difficult months, but most of all, the smiling faces of the children who bring so much joy.  This was a different end to the year than we ever expected and we are now moving in a new direction for the next program year.  Due to the uncertainty of the Fall/Winter season, we will not have weekly onsite learning sessions but rather a distance learning program.  This decision was made for the safety of all. We are in the process of purchasing new products, with e-books and portal access for activities and videos, where the student will be able to learn in the safety of their home.  For those who do not have internet capability, a hard copy textbook will be provided.  Our first learning session will start October 5th.

We will be holding parent meetings to explain the program on the following dates in the Parish Hall at 7:00pm

Students entering:

Monday, September 14th               Grade 1

Tuesday, September 15th               Grade 2

Wednesday, September 16th         Grades 3 and 4

Thursday, September 17th              Grades 5 and 6

Tuesday, September 22nd               Grade 7

Wednesday, September 23rd         Grade 8

A letter under separate cover will be mailed to the students who missed their Sacraments of First Eucharist and Confirmation. That letter will include the details of how and when we will be celebrating those sacraments.

Please note we have lowered the cost of tuition and we ask that you return this registration as soon as possible so we can begin to process them. If you have suffered a financial hardship, due to the pandemic, please contact our office.

We wish to thank you, our families, for your patience, understanding and support.  As a parish and a global family let us remember that we are all in this together.  If you have any questions or concerns please contact me at (732) 270-3797.

Father Mark, our pastor, along with our clergy and staff continue to hold you in prayer.

Wishing you and your family God’s loving blessing, Ellen Noble CRE
